FAQ
Microneedling
What is Microneedling for?
Microneedling can be performed on all types of skin to treat a wide range of skin issues including wrinkles, scars, pigmentation, enlarged pores, stretch marks and age spots on the hands. It can be used to revitalize tired skin and even out skin tone. Microneedling is also a great treatment for hair loss.
Is there any age limit?
Treatment is not performed on people under the age of 18. For young people over age of 18, microneedling can be done in order to reduce sebum production and pore narrowing, as well as removing marks and acne scars.
How long does the microneedling result last?
After a course of 3 session which is 4 weeks apart, the treatment results last for 6 months and, with use of adequate home care, even longer. While we cannot stop the natural ageing process, we can significantly slow it down and visually improve the appearance of the skin, and then continue to maintain the achieved results.
Is it painful?
With the use of local anaesthetic in the form of cream, pain and discomfort during treatment is minimised, so that it is virtually painless. After treatment your skin will look and feel like mild sunburn. This usually passes completely between 24 and 48 hours after the treatment.
Can I have microneedling after Botox, fillers, face lifting ?
Yes.
After 30 days (depending on what is done on the face). This treatment can be an extraordinary addition to other aesthetic procedures such as filler treatment, Botox, chemical peeling and surgical lifting. Regular treatments considerably postpone the use of aggressive surgical methods. |
When is microneedling not advised?
Microneedling should not be performed when the following are present: excess acne, keloid scars, autoimmune diseases, blood coagulation disorder, bacterial skin infections, skin diseases, open wounds and/or non-epithelialized skin lesions, such as chronic wounds.
