FAQ - Semi-Permanent Makeup
Difference between Microblading and SPMU
|
Essentially they are both methods of implanting pigment into the skin however the main difference is that SPMU is implanted with an electronic device similar to a conventional tattoo machine where as microbloading is done using a manual hand tool with a blade similar to a tiny scalpel.
|
How long does the procedure take
|
First treatment lasts about 3 hours. I recommend to wear something comfortable. I have free parking at the back of my house.
Second treatment should lasts about 1.5 - 2 hours. |
Does it hurt
|
Topical numbing cream can be applied before and during the procedure to help minimize any discomfort.
Please make sure you are not allergic to lidocaine, prilocaine and epinephrine. |
Is it safe
|
Every cosmetic skin procedure involves a very small degree of risk and, although it is a very low-risk procedure as long as the aftercare instructions are followed. If you don’t, there is a risk of infection which may cause color loss, but by following my aftercare plan you will be able to enjoy the SPMU without any complications.
There is a medical consent form I am going through. If you have any medical issues I may ask you to consult your practitioner to make sure permanent makeup is for you. |
Do I need the second treatment
|
YES.
In all cases the 2nd treatment (correction) must be needed 6-8 weeks after the 1st treatment. The first treatment sets the look and creates the shape and the second treatment will correct the uneven pigments on the area and also give a longer lifetime of the permanent make up. |
How long does it last
|
The permanent make up will fade after a while as the skin has a renewing process. This can be different in each individual, depends on many other factors, like the darkness of the pigment, the skin type, the age, sunbathing habit, dyeing the eyebrows, lifestyle...
The hair-stroke eyebrows treatment will need a re-touch in 12-18 months. The eyeliner, powder eyebrows and lips treatment last longer (2-5 years). |
Eyelashes and eyebrows during treatment
|
You may find some eyelashes or hairs sticking in the treated area and falling out with the scabs. Don’t worry, I insert the pigment just under the epidermis and the hair bulb is healthy underneath.
|
After scabs coming off you feel the area is faded, not asymmetric or not the right color
|
The magic word is PATIENCE!!!!!
The right color will appear 4 weeks after the treatment because of the healing time of your top of the skin (epidermis). All SPMU treatment will happen 2 times as I can not reach 100% result after 1 treatment. This follow up/2nd treatment is included the price. If you are happy with the result after the 1st treatment I still advise you to come back for the follow up treatment to make sure everything looks good. |
I normally have cold sore
|
If you suffer with Herpex Simples (Cold Sores) the trauma caused by Micropigmentation can cause an outbreak. To help minimise a cold Sore outbreak I recommend getting a prescription from your GP for Aciclovir tablets and cream. I recommend taking an anti-viral tablet such as Aciclovir for 5 days before your procedure and continue the course for another 5 days after the procedure. Using Aciclovir anti-viral cream will also help reduce symptoms.
I would recommend to ask gp's opinion first before ordering them online. The pigment stays in 60-70% the area of the cold sores. |
What Pigment is being used
|
?
Pigments I am using do not contain iron-oxides so eyebrows can maintain their brown color. They were produced with the latest production technology and they are anti-allergenic and its composition contains specifically skin-friendly substances. If you still have any concerns about the pigment and your skin is extremely sensitive, please come for a free consultation and I will do a patch test behind your ear just to make sure it is suitable for you |
Can I have a treatment if I already have an old permanent makeup
|
There are a lot of considerations to take before we can make the decision to go over existing work to reshape and/or cover other artists existing permanent makeup.
In this case please have a free consultation with me, where we can talk about your expectations and decide on the most suitable treatment for you. The price will be individual. |
